Texas RB Chris Warren could be considering a transfer

Chris Warren football

Chris Warren has not produced much on the field for the Texas Longhorns this season, and the freshman running back may be considering a transfer amid the program’s struggles.

Warren’s mother, K’Tara Lopez, told 247 Sports that they “are not timid about the transfer process,” indicating that it could be an option.

“Christopher will not play for a coach that does not place academics, the development of a young man’s foundation (character) and enforcement of proper conduct on and off the field at a very high level,” Lopez told Realdawg.com Monday. “We are not timid about the transfer process like others are.”

Though Lopez says they are not timid about the transfer process, she says she still believes Charlie Strong is the right man for the Longhorns job. The issue is whether Strong will continue to have the opportunity to prove it since he’s in hot water after going 7-11 since taking over the position.

Warren was a four-star recruit entering college and chose Texas over many other top schools. He had offers from Ohio State and Alabama to name a few. His decision came down to Texas and Washington, so the issues at Texas coupled with the negative sentiment surrounding the program have Huskies fans clamoring at the thought of getting the rusher.

Warren has rushed for 33 yards on 10 carries this season.
